The death toll from the landslide triggered by incessant rainfall in Taplejung has reached 53. As many as 12 people have sustained injury while some others have gone missing.

Taplejung, Jan. 26: Nepal Red Cross Society, Taplejung has declared the completion of Rapid Rehabilitation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programmes in the district.

Deforestation has gone unchecked in the forests of Tinjure-Milke-Jaljale area bordering Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha and Taplejung districts.
