AGARTALA: Eyeing on achieving self-reliant on power sector, Tripura State Power Corporation Ltd (TSECL) has decided to set up a 21-MW gas based power project in the state.

Tripura, in spite of tremendous potential in gas based power generation, currently produces only 85 MW against its total requirement 181 MW in pick hours, according to official sources.
