The grievance in the application is regarding discharge of untreated sewage in Pamari drain which is adding to pollution of river Yamuna.  The NGT vide order dated August 30, 2022 had directed a joint committee to submit a report on the matter.

In the petition, the complaint is regarding discharge of domestic waste water and untreated industrial waste water into river Ganga at Varanasi. The Tribunal by order May 24, 2022 had constituted a joint committee with the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board as nodal agency with a direction to submit the report.

Joint committee inspection report consolidated of four district's (Ujjain, Dewas, Ratlam and Indore) in the matter of Original Application No 25/2023 (Sachin Dave Vs Union of India & Others).

The joint committee report was in response to the NGT, Central Bench, Bhopal order, April 20, 2023 and July 13, 2023.

The report filed by the Rajasthan Pollution Control Board showed that even now untreated sewage is being discharged directly in the Kothari river causing pollution and degrading environment. Member Secretary, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board stated that industrial effluent was not being discharged directly in the river, reason being that all industries are following the ZLD process.
