CPCB has published a report on Comprehensive Environmental Assessment of Industrial Cluster in December 2009. In respect of industrial estates in the Maharashtra Chandrapur, Dombivali, Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai & Tarapur have been designated as critical /severe from environmental pollution angle. Maharashtra Pollution Control Board ( MPCB) has come up with a time-bound action plan to curb pollution in Chandrapur, and its effective implementation could help bring the hazardous pollution levels under control.
