There is an urgent need for an improved understanding of the sources, distributions and properties of atmospheric aerosol in order to control the atmospheric pollution over northeastern Himalayas where rising anthropogenic interferences from rapid urbanization and development is becoming an increasing concern.

Since 2003-04, when the CDM Executive Board (EB) assumed a more functional role, more than 1,700 CDM projects have been registered, promising a total of over 1.5 billion metric tonnes of CO2 reductions by the end of the first Kyoto commitment period.

This study assesses the Five-Year Plans (FYPs) and relevant government policies adopted to garner India's climate change goals and priorities. It attempts to highlight key climate change concerns from a brief sector- specific analysis: examining it's impact on trade.
