SHILLONG: The 110-MW Pare Hydro Electric Project, earlier known as Dikrong project, in Papumpare district of Arunachal Pradesh has been cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) for execution by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), informed sources in the Union Ministry of Power said on Monday.

Shillong: About 408 families from nine villages of Khatarshnong in East Khasi Hills district benefited from the five-year project on watershed management, carried out by Soil and Water Conservation, Government of Meghalaya, according official sources.

Shillong: More than 72 species of protozoan and helminth parasites can reach humans through food and water and most of these infections are zoonoses (diseases that are transmittable between man and animals), according to president of Indian Society for Parasitology (ISP) Prof Veena Tandon.
