A document on `characterization, waste management practices & best available pollution control technologies in slaughter houses’ has been prepared by CPCB in consultation with Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai.

There have been several traffic management measures taken in Delhi, the odd-eve traffic experiment conducted in year 2016 was first of its kind. CPCB took it as an opportunity to explore if there was any significant reduction in ambient noise levels due to restrictions in number plates.

Draft Guidelilnes for Pre-processing/Co-processing of Hazardous and Other Wastes had been prepared in Feb. 2017 and circulated among the SPCBs/PCCs and other Stake-holders for information/comments. Suggestions were received and have been incorporate wherever feasible.

Plan for restoration of polluted river stretches can be executed through two fold concepts. One concept may target for enhancement of river flow through interventions on the water sheds/catchment areas for conservation and recharge of rain water for subsequent releases during lean flow period in a year.

After analyzing the Environmental Status of 88 Industrial Clusters selected in the country, Central Pollution Control Board in consultation with the Ministry of Environment & Forests has identified 43 critically polluted industrial clusters based on Comprehensive Environmental Pollution Index (CEPI).

CPCB has brought `Guidelines on Environmental Management of C&D Wastes' in compliance of Rule 10 sub-rule 1(a) of the C&D Waste Management Rules, 2016 and has attempted to address the issues pertaining to abatement of adverse environmental impacts arising from C&D waste management activities.
