The Department of Commerce on June 16, 2021 has published Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Rules, 2021 to further amend the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006.

The Government of India has notified Copyright (Amendment) Rules, 2021 vide Gazette notification under reference G.S.R. 225(E) dated 30th March, 2021. In India, the copyright regime is governed by the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Copyright Rules, 2013. The Copyright Rules, 2013 were last amended in the year 2016.

On February 09, 2021, the Government of India vide the Ministry of Commerce and Industry published the draft Patents (Amendment) Rules, 2021 (hereinafter referred to as the “new draft Rules”) as a proposal to further amend the Patents Rules, 2003.

This policy approved by the government on Dec 6, 2018 is aimed at doubling the agricultural exports and integrating Indian farmers and agricultural products with the global value chains.

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has come up with a draft “Agriculture Export Policy” which is aimed at doubling the agricultural exports and integrate Indian farmers and agricultural products to the global value chain. Preliminary meeting with stakeholders was conducted to obtain their feedback on the proposed policy.

The Union Cabinet approved the National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy that will lay the future roadmap for intellectual property in India. The Policy recognises the abundance of creative and innovative energies that flow in India, and the need to tap into and channelise these energies towards a better and brighter future for all.

The IPR Think Tank set up by the Government of India submitted its first Draft of the National IPR Policy on 19th December, 2014. The document covers an overview of India’s IP system, the vision, mission and objectives of the policy as well as the integration of IP with the Make in India and Digital India initiatives.

Text of the notification issued by Ministry of Commerce and Industry on 22 May 2014 on anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of solar cells whether or not assembled partially or fully in Modules or Panels or on glass or some other suitable substrates, originating in or exported from Malaysia, China PR, Chinese Taipei and USA.

In order to revive investors’ interest in Special Economic Zones, Hon’ble Commerce & Industry Minister announced certain measures on 18th April, 2013. Based on the announcements necessary amendment to SEZ Rules, 2006 have been carried out vide Notification dated 12th August, 2013.

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce has formulated a ‘Draft Policy on Units in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) carrying on recycling of plastic scarp or waste’.
