The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, vide Notification F. No. K-43013(12)/1/2021-SEZ, dated November 7, 2023, notified amendment to the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, made under the authority of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005).

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, has introduced draft amendments to the Patents Rules, 2003. These drafts detail various changes proposed by the Central Government, anchored on section 159 of the Patents Act, 1970.

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has notified the Special Economic Zones (Third Amendment) Rules, 2023. An amendment has been made to the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006. A new rule 29B has been inserted to the existing rules.

On 23 February, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry notified the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to amend the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006. Rule 21 B has been inserted providing Units dealing with aircraft leasing activities.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on 14th July 2022, has published the Special Economic Zones (Third Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006.

The Department of Commerce on June 16, 2021 has published Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Rules, 2021 to further amend the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006.

The Government of India has notified Copyright (Amendment) Rules, 2021 vide Gazette notification under reference G.S.R. 225(E) dated 30th March, 2021. In India, the copyright regime is governed by the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Copyright Rules, 2013. The Copyright Rules, 2013 were last amended in the year 2016.

On February 09, 2021, the Government of India vide the Ministry of Commerce and Industry published the draft Patents (Amendment) Rules, 2021 (hereinafter referred to as the “new draft Rules”) as a proposal to further amend the Patents Rules, 2003.

This policy approved by the government on Dec 6, 2018 is aimed at doubling the agricultural exports and integrating Indian farmers and agricultural products with the global value chains.

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has come up with a draft “Agriculture Export Policy” which is aimed at doubling the agricultural exports and integrate Indian farmers and agricultural products to the global value chain. Preliminary meeting with stakeholders was conducted to obtain their feedback on the proposed policy.
