The Union Cabinet approved the National Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy that will lay the future roadmap for intellectual property in India. The Policy recognises the abundance of creative and innovative energies that flow in India, and the need to tap into and channelise these energies towards a better and brighter future for all.

The IPR Think Tank set up by the Government of India submitted its first Draft of the National IPR Policy on 19th December, 2014. The document covers an overview of India’s IP system, the vision, mission and objectives of the policy as well as the integration of IP with the Make in India and Digital India initiatives.

A power plant can be set up by developer(s)/co-developer(s) in a SEZ, as part of infrastructure facility in the processing area or non-processing area of SEZ.

Keeping in view the need to identify the various issues and formulation of recommendations for achieving the projected targets related to the industry and to focus on bringing out programs and their financial implications, a working group on cement industry for 12th Five Year Plan was constituted by the Planning Commission.

Notification of Ministry of Commerce and Industry dated 27 May, 2009 notified the Special Economic Zones at Mundra in the State of Gujarat.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 55 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, namely: These rules may be called the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Rules, 2009. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
