Joint committee report dated November 28, 2022 regarding illegal sand and stone mining taking place in various locations of Aravali range in the districts of Faridabad, Gurugram and Nuh, Haryana. In Aravali where mining has taken place by vertically shaving the hill slopes it is not feasible to restore the landscape to its original form, a joint committee report said.

The Mines and Geology Department, Haryana is committed to stop illegal mining in the Aravalli hill area of districts Faridabad, Gurugram and Nuh. The department has taken action in 9 cases out ouf 44 complaints received by it on illegal mining in Aravali hills area.

Pandala Hills near Gairatpur Bas village, Gurgaon has been severely degraded on account of illegal mining, but no steps have been taken for its ecological restoration. Evidence of fresh illegal mining in Pandala Hills was found on a site visit.

The matter related to unscientific dumping of waste on the land allotted for Solid Waste Management project at village Jhuriwala, Panchkula, Haryana. According to the applicant, the site in question is 140 meters away from Khol-Hai-Raitan Wildlife Sanctuary.

The complaint is that one M/s Balaji Rice Mill at village Randoli, tehsil Indri, district Karnal is operating its unit causing damage to the environment by discharging dust and causing air pollution affecting local people. There is a school near the proponent's unit and the school children are also being affected by air pollution caused by the said unit.

The report filed by the Urban Local Bodies Department, Haryana has not said anything with respect to the removal of waste from the water body (johar) existing near the dumping site, which is in close proximity to the SND Public School, Palwal, Haryana.
