The matter related to a building project in an area having an extent of 10.87 acres in Vedapatti village, Coimbatore south taluk, Coimbatore district under the name Golden City. The proposal was to construct 1356 flats of various sizes. It is alleged that the construction of the project started even before the grant of Environment Clearance.

Report filed by the Joint Committee constituted on the NGT order of December 10, 2019 regarding restoration of a waterbody Palkeni Kulam, Pallavaram, Tamil Nadu dated 11/01/2021.

In a meeting of the Committee it was decided that the Tahsildar, Pallavaram would remove the encroachments around the waterbody and take steps to allot alternative accommodations for the 111 encroachers in the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board tenements in Padappai.

A land of 1342.11 acres of land was acquired in and around 3 villages namely Uppoor, Valamavur and Thirupalaikudi in Thiruvadanai taluk, Ramanathapuram district. The Terms of Reference dated May 28, 2012 expired on May 27, 2015 and thereafter environmental clearance was granted dated May 18, 2016.

Order of the Madras High Court (Suo Motu W.P. (MD) No. 17508 of 2020 regarding Amaravathi river pollution dated 02/12/2020.

The matter dealt with discharge of untreated effluents from the dyeing units and other companies into the river Amaravathi - polluting the entire river.

Justice N. Kirubakaran and Justice B. Pugalendhi noted that throughout the country, the industries were polluting the water bodies by letting in untreated industrial effluents. Many of the water bodies were completely polluted and they have become sewage channels.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Tribunal on its own motion Vs Department of Environment & Others dated 11/11/2020. The matter relates to unsegregated solid waste overflowing from bins on to the roads near Kodambakkam and Adyar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
