The question for consideration was compliance of the order of the Surpeme Court September 23, 2013 for shifting of industrial activities in residential areas in the State of Uttar Pradesh for protection of environment.

Response to report by Akash Vashistha to report dated August 25, 2020 submitted by the District Magistrate, Mathura. The matter related to construction of a metalled road taking place in the river bed of Yamuna in Vrindavan along with other permanent illegal constructions. The road was used to facilitate illegal reclamation of floodplains. The construction of this road was leading to dumping of malba and debris on the ghats (Cheer Ghat, Govind Ghat and Bhramar Ghat). This had caused irreparable damage to the Ghats and obstructing the natural flow of the river.

Status report by Meerut Nagar Nigam in Original Application No. 77 of 2019. The issue for consideration was the remedial action against unscientific dumping of solid waste in village Ganwri on the bank of river Kaali, creating health hazard. It was also alleged that 22 deaths had taken place and 200 people have been taken ill.

A factual and action taken report was sought from Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Uttar Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), District Magistrate, Ghaziabad and the Municipal Commissioner, Ghaziabad with reference to the allegation of illegal operation of dairy farms in residential colony of Chiranjiv Vihar, Ghaziabad.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vibhor Mittal Vs M/s Unnati Construction Pvt. Ltd. dated 14/08/2020. Grievance in this application was against violation of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 by M/s Unnati Construct Pvt. Ltd, Aligarh. It was alleged that the septic tank in the area was over flowing resulting in damage to the environment and public health. Also, no statutory consents had been taken.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vijay Kumar Dwedi Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 05/08/2020. A report was sought from the Divisional Forest Officer, Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, with reference to the allegation of illegal sand mining in forest land in Village Hamirpur, adversely affecting the environment.

The issue for consideration is the remedial action against unregulated dumping of solid waste in the flood plains of Yamuna and scientific clearing of the legacy waste site of Vrindavan, in accordance with the Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.
