The Counsel appearing on behalf of the State Pollution Control Board and Central Pollution Control Board submit that joint inspection of the industry will be carried out within two weeks and the report of the inspection will be presented before the Tribunal on the next date of hearing.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Social Action For Forest & Environment (SAFE) Vs Uttarakhand Forest Department & Others dated 21/03/2016 regarding construction of 2 km length of wall on the right bank of Song river in Rajaji National Park, Motichur range of Rajaji National Park, Uttarakhand.

The National Green Tribunal in the 38-page verdict on March 21, 2016  constituted a committee and asked it to submit a report regarding construction activities by Darrameks Hotels & Developers Private Limited on banks and the flood plains of river Ganga at village Singtali , District Tehri Garhwal, in Uttarakhand. The green tribunal also stated that the hotel authorities shall be liable to pay environmental compensation of Rs. 20 Lakh for violating the conditions set in the Consent to Establish issued by the Uttaranchal Environment Protection & Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB) and for disturbing the immediate/direct catchment of the river Ganga by changing the drainage pattern through the use of JCBs for levelling the area.

NGT on March 16, 2016 ordered the Municipality of Almora and all its members to ensure that the municipal solid waste is properly collected and dumped.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Hotel Shiv Sai Vs. The Member Secretary, Uttaranchal Environment Protection & Pollution Control Board dated 10/03/2016 regarding disposal of waste into river Ganga by Hotel Shiv Sai, Uttarakhand.

Counsel appearing for the Applicant submits that they have complied with all the requirements and have taken anti pollution devices including sewer line connection. They further submit that they are not throwing any waste into the river Ganga directly or indirectly.
