The matter related to illegal mining on river bank of Yamuna and the operation of a stone crusher (M/s Astitwa Anantraj Enterprises) in violation of environmental laws in  Uttarkashi district.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Neeraj Chhachhar & Others Vs State of Uttarakhand & Others dated 10/01/2025.

The Original Application was registered on a letter petition complaining that constructions of residential apartments have been made in violation of environmental norms and polluting material is being discharged directly in river Ganga.

Order of the High Court of Uttarakhand (WPPIL No. 202 OF 2024 with WPPIL NO.174 OF 2024) in the matter of mining operations in Bageshwar district, Uttarakhand.

The order was passed by the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court Guhanathan Narendar and Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari. In compliance with the order of December 9, 2024 the Court Commissioners have submitted a report. The court called the report alarming as well as shocking.

The matter related to prevention, control and abatement of pollution in river Ganga and its tributaries with respect to the state of Uttarakhand.

The matter was related to mining and stone crushers operating within the eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) of Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of N B Minerals Corporation Limited Vs Union of India & Others dated 27/02/2024.

The matter related to mining of magnesite/dolomite by N B Minerals Corporation Limited,  Didihat, Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand.

The Supreme Court (SC), February 29, 2024 directed N B Minerals Corporation Limited not to carry out any other construction or mining of magnesite/dolomite.

Action taken report by way of affidavit on behalf of District Chamoli through District Magistrate, Chamoli, Uttarakhand in compliance of NGT order dated November 9, 2023.

The matter is related to the protection of Benital lake.

It has been reported that the size of the lake has reduced to the extent of 0.116 hectare out of the original size of 2 hectares. The lake has a positive role on groundwater recharge, vegetation, ecological stability of the area and in ensuring safe and clean water supply to about 6 villages.
