For the fifth day in a row, air quality index (AQI) in the city remained in the `very poor' category as it again beat the national capital in pollution levels.

The city has been enveloped in a heavy layer of smog caused by a fire last week at the Deonar dumping ground.

Mumbai: Pollution levels in Mumbai fell on Monday but the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) was still in the 'very poor' category and, worse than that of Delhi.

Circles concerned in the State want to tell Guwahatians – ‘beware of both air and sound pollution rates in the city as the trend in these two aspects isn’t going the right way’.
