March 28: Hyderabad lagged behind other metros in the country in observing Earth Hour on Saturday.
Earth Hour, a global initiative by the World Wildlife Fund to fight climate change was organised in the city by a few corporates.
Lights were switched off lights for 60 minutes between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm on Saturday.

March 27: The AP Congress Committee has lodged a complaint with the AP High Court that the Campaign for Housing and Tenural Rights (CHATRI), a voluntary organisation, has been misusing law to intimidate and extract benefits from it.

Bengaluru leads the south brigade, followed by Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai in the Lifebuoy Child Health Quotient Survey, the results of which were released on Wednesday.
Hyderabad has been ranked 12th among the 17 state capitals where the survey was conducted among mothers.

March 24: Gales since the last two days damaged fruit gardens in the Kadapa district. Farmers suffered a loss to the tune of Rs 4 crore.
Fruit gardens, especially papaya and banana, in Kadapa, Rajampet, Kodur, Kamalapuram and various places in the district have been affected.

March 23: After Tirupati laddu, Andhra Pradesh is trying to include Athripuram Putharekulu, Araku coffee, Bandaru laddu and Avakaya pickle in the Geographical Indications Registry.
This will give the registered proprietor and authorised users the legal right to the exclusive use of the product and the right to obtain relief in case of its infringement.

CHENNAI: Nearly 650 families who were freed from bonded labour from Andhra Pradesh quarries in 1989-1990, are living in abject poverty in Villupuram district because of non-access to government schemes, according to officials in the Adi Dravidar Welfare Directorate.
