Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Satpal & Ors. Vs. State of Haryana & Ors. dated 28/07/2016 regarding illegal extraction of groundwater by 43 bottling units, Faridabad, Haryana.

CGWA has revealed in its reply that CGWA had declared the whole of Municipal Corporation of Faridabad and Ballabgarh as critical area and directed the persons/organizations/agencies to register their ground water abstraction structures with Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad and to obtain its permission for drawl of the ground water.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M/s Yash Papers Ltd. Vs. Krishan Kant Singh & Ors. dated 16/05/2016 regarding pollution caused by M/s. Yash Paper Ltd., Darshan Nagar, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. The Joint Inspection Report of the paper industry points out three deficiencies: 

1. installation of Tertiary Plant,

2. obtaining permission of the CGWAI

3. the unit should also maintain its ETP.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of Shanmuga Aqua Industries Vs Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board & Others dated 27/04/2016 regarding running of a packaged drinking water Unit without obtaining consent under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and also without obtaining clearance from the Central Ground Water Authority, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs. M/S Aadi Best Consortium Pvt. Ltd. dated 19/04/2016 regarding extraction of ground water by Adi Best Consortium Pvt. Ltd., Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Counsel appearing on behalf of Shailesh Singh admits that the water from the bore well was being extracted since the commencement of project for the purposes of human consumption that is for the labourers at the site and no permission from CGWA was obtained for extraction of this ground water.

The Counsel appearing for Uttarakhand Environment Protection Pollution Control Board , informed that the industry is compliant and non-polluting. Consequently the industry is permitted to operate in accordance with law and the consent granted by the Board can take effect.
