The Ministry of Jal Shakti, D/o Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has brought out the 6th census report on Minor Irrigation Schemes. This report provides state-wise detailed information on all the key parameters of Minor Irrigation projects in the country.

The report said that M/s Indira Sagar (Polavaram) multipurpose project, is an irrigation project located in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh and obtained Environmental Clearance, October 25, 2005 and modified, March 9, 2009. The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) issued Consent to Establish (CTE) to the project, October 18, 2005.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Pentapati Pulla Rao Vs Union of India & Others dated 23/02/2021.

Grievance in this application was against illegal dumping of muck by the Polavaram Project Authority on the land of the applicant (Dr. Pentapati Pulla Rao) and need for remedial action against adverse impact of coferdam on upstream areas.

The Polavaram Irrigation Project (PIP) officials has said that the overall progress so far made in the project was 71.88%. As per the construction schedule, concrete in spillway including construction of bridge, concrete in spill channel and construction of coffer dams should have been completed by May 2019.
