SHILLONG: In the bid to safeguard the forest cover of the State, the State Cabinet has approved the constitution of the Meghalaya State Forest Development Agency in accordance with the directives of the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest.
SHILLONG, Jan 28: Team leader Christopher Juan Costain of Water and Sanitation Programme, South Asia, an international partnership for improving water and sanitation sector policies, practices and capacities to serve the poor, today expressed its willing to extend support for Meghalaya for effective implementation of the total sanitation campaign.
SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) has been asked to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Ganol Hydel Project.

Shillong:Opposition leader Conrad K Sangma has expressed surprise over the reply of PHE Minister Prestone Tynsong that no amount has been sanctioned for the Greater Selsella Water Supply Scheme for the current financial year of 2010-2011.
