During the course of the hearing of the case, it was mentioned that the Public Health and Family Welfare Department in its order, May 22, 2021 had introduced the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme for all families where the annual income is less than Rs. 72,000/- per annum.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Tribunal on its own motion SUO MOTU Based on the News Item in Dinamalar Tamil Newspaper dated 27.01.2020, “A Bridge has become a source of spreading Contamination and Communicable Diseases” Vs The Government of Tamil Nadu, Represented by its Chief Secretary and Others dated 03/02/2020 regarding dumping of solid waste and animal waste from the meat shops beneath the Pallavaram Round over bridge. Further, it has become a place where sewage water is also stagnated due to non maintenance of the sewage system in that area.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of Suo motu proceedings initiated based on the news item published In “The Times of India” Chennai –Edition dated 20.1.2017 on the caption “Bhavani river water unfit Chennai – 9 for consumption” and “waste from Mettupalayam Government Hospital ends up in Bhavani River” Vs Government of Tamil Nadu & Others dated 12/04/2017 regarding pollution of Bhavani River, Tamil Nadu.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of Venugopalapuram & Nateson Nagar Vs Government of Tamil Nadu & Others dated 20/09/2016 regarding contamination of ground water due to discharge of waste water by an industry in the business of water servicing of vehicles. Also it is alleged that the industry is operating within the residential area without getting prior Consent or Environment Clearance from the Tamil Nadu State Pollution Control Board.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) in the matter of M/S. Empee Power and Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. Vs Government of Tamil Nadu & Others dated 19/09/2016 regarding plan for a 1320 MW coal based Coastal Thermal Power Plant in 400 acres of land in Neithavasal Village, Sirkali Taluk, Nagapattinam District, State of Tamil Nadu. M/S. Empee Power and Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. has not obtained Environmental Clearance (EC) so far and has not even undertaken the public hearing.

The Madras High Court directs Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and Election Commission of India (ECI) to take up the issue as to what
orders can be passed to prevent the waste plastic from affecting the State and thereafter file an affidavit in this behalf.
