The said company is constructing a double lane in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and in the process of said construction activities, construction waste and other waste is being dumped at the Dhalli Tunnel project down the valley side.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) directed that a high powered committee should look into the matter of illegal construction at Mohal Dhar Tuti Kandi, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The committee should be headed by the Secretary, Urban Development, Himachal Pradesh. Remedial action in accordance with law must be taken, the NGT, October 17, 2022 said.

Challenge in the application is to the Draft Development Plan, 2041 prepared by the Town and Country Planning Department, Himachal Pradesh on the ground that such a plan is contrary to the sustainable development principle and destructive of environment and public safety.
