The State Government has constituted a special committee to look into rising cases of illegal hill-cutting in the State and also stated that a policy for the protection of hills is being framed.

The Centre on Dec. 8: The Centre on Tuesday assured Parliament that due action will be taken against Obulapuram Mining Company if any tax irregularities are found against it.

The central task force appointed to check illegal mining activities in Hospet and Bellary began their investigations on Monday.

Hyderabad, Dec. 7: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday formed a special joint task force and issued an FIR over allegations of illegal mining and encroachments in the Bellary Reserve Forest area of Anantapur forest division by six companies including Obulapuram Mining Company.
