The applicants who are traditional fishermen allege that the project activity of M/s.Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) extends to an area of 15 hectares between 200 metres and 300 metres from the High Tide Line (HTL).

The Court observed that by order dated 05.08.2016, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) was directed to file a report on the Ambient Air Quality (AAQ) of cities of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kochi, Thrissur, Calicut and Kannur within one month and that report is yet to be filed. NGT directs the report to be filed by 16.01.2018.
