Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of In re: News item published on 21.11.2021 in the Indian Express titled “Lakes of Bengaluru : Industrial effluents, raw sewage; stinky tale of Chandrapura lake” dated March 29, 2022. The matter related to damage to the Chandrapura lake and failure of statutory regulators to take remedial action. The media report mentions that the buffer zone of the lake has been encroached upon and waste is being dumped into the lake. It is choked by encroachments and affected by effluents and waste.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Tribunal at its own Motion Vs State of Rajasthan & Others dated 06/10/2021.

The matter related to discharge of untreated water/sewage water into the water body named Mansarovar Lake and it is alleged that sewage water is being continuously discharged into the water body and no remedial action are being taken by the state authorities.

The Korattur People's Welfare & Awareness Trust has filed an application before the NGT to restrain untreated effluent from industries and sewage from household activities directly letting into the Korattur lake through the canals and in other ways. Restoration of Bum-Rukn-ud-Dowla a historic heritage water body of around 104 acres, opposite National Police Academy, Shivrampally, Hyderabad, is the question for consideration. On receiving a complaint that water body was being destroyed by dumping of waste and sewage and encroachment, NGT vide order, September 10, 2018 directed the Urban Development Department of Telangana and the Telangana State Pollution Control Board to look into the matter.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Sanjay Rao & Others Vs State of Karnataka dated 10/06/2021.

The issue for consideration is the remedial action against pollution of Kithiganahalli lake situated behind Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital, within remits of Bommasandra Pura Sabha, Anekal, Karnataka. The report filed by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, February 18, 2020 acknowledged damage to the lake by discharge of untreated sewage and other waste.
