The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has engaged RV College of Engineering, Bangalore to conduct an environmental audit of all the industries existing in the catchment area of Chandapura lake. The KSPCB has not accorded permission to any industry having captive effluent treatment plant to discharge its effluents into the common effluent treatment plant (CETP). Officers have been directed by the KSPCB to collect samples from the drains leading to Chandapura lake for the forensic analysis and trace pollutant studies.

Chande Baba Talab in village Garhi-Chunoti, Lucknow is facing the threat of encroachment and the lake is seeing a reduction in its water level.
