The Supreme Court on Friday declined to interfere in Jammu and Kashmir government order to revoke the transfer of land to Sri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). The bench headed by Justice Altamas Kabir also declined to entertain the prayer seeking directions for the lifting of curfew in Jammu. Fresh communal violence erupted here Friday leading to imposition of curfew in entire Indore city, a day after four persons were killed in clashes during the BJP-VHP sponsored bandh against revocation of land to Amarnath shrine board. The fresh incidents of violence occurred in various areas - Jinsi, Juna Risala, Champa Bagh, Bombay Bazar and Hathipala where rioters clashed with the police and the Rapid Action Force personnel by pelting stones on them.

Dissatisfied with the cabinet's decision of revoking the order of transfer of land to the Shrine Board, the state unit of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today warned that the agitation for Amarnath issue will go nationwide. "The cabinet's decision today at Srinagar has made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir government is being run by Kashmir-centric leadership," Ashok Khajuria, BJP state president told mediapersons at a press conference here this afternoon.

Hyderabad, June 30: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday granted an interim stay on the acquisition of railway properties between Tarnaka and Sangeet Crossroads. The Hyderabad Collector had issued a notification for the acquisition of these properties on the request of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to lay an Inner Ring Road to ease traffic congestion on the stretch.
