A leopard attacked a dog at Wavti-Vathadev, Bicholim, there by creating panic among villagers on Saturday night.
According to villagers, the leopard strayed near the residence of one Pandurang Gawde from Wavti-Vathadev and attacked the dog sleeping outside the house.

Palanpur: A leopard, which was entangled in a bundle of loose telephone cables strewn across a field some 45 km from Himmatnagar in Vadali taluka, was set free by the forest department on Thursday evening. This is one of the first sighting of the spotted wild cat in the region.

Even as wildlife conservation activists began to complain that senior Forest Department officials are unwilling to take action against those responsible for the killing of a young leopard in Thodupuzha town in Idukki district, Forest Minister Benoy Viswam has confirmed that the animal had died of the unruly response of the people of the town.
