Dhanbad, July 19: After rehabilitating more than 270 families from the fire-affected areas of the Jharia coalfield region to Jharia Vihar colony, the Jharia Rehabilitation Development Authority (JRDA) has decided to add around 750 quarters to the existing colony.

Currently, the Jharia Vihar colony has 2,352 quarters where illegal inhabitants of the coalfield region were shifted.

At least 10 people were killed after a coal mine gas explosion in north China, officials said on Wednesday.

The accident occurred at around 4.50 pm on Tuesday when 41 miners were working in the shaft of Chentong Coal Industry Co. Ltd. at Yuxian County in Shanxi province, Xinhua news agency reported.

One Bangladeshi worker died, 25 injured and three other miners still missing while a roof of a tunnel of the Barapukuria coal mine caved in at Parbartipur here on Tuesday.
