Further, the state should ensure that mining takes place without any adverse impact on the environment.

Based on the direction from the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) issued guidelines to the Government of Karnataka(GoK) to get R&R Plans for the individual open cast iron ore mine leases of the area prepared by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE).
