Standing Committee on Petroleum & Natural Gas present this Nineteenth Report on "Allocation and Pricing of Gas". The Committee took evidence of the representatives of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas at their sittings held on 24.7.2013 and 20.08.2013.

This report prepared by the committee chaired by Dr. Vijay Kelkar includes a discussion of the economic foundations of Exploration and Production Contracts and an early action program drawn upon the analysis and inputs received from wide ranging consultations with stakeholders. Kelkar committee was set up by the Government of India to prepare a roadmap for enhancing domestic production of oil and gas and sustainable reduction in import dependency by 2030.

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has been publishing its annual bulletin “Indian Petroleum & Natural Gas Statistics” since 1967 containing comprehensive information on the Oil & Gas Sector. The bulletin provides information in terms of both calendar year and financial year, to address the demands of the diverse users. It also includes a brief write-up on production performance of Petroleum & Natural Gas Sector during 2012-13.
