The Tamil Nadu government was directed by the National Green Tribunal, southern zone, Chennai to publish the new rules and guidelines related to sewage management in newspapers to make the people aware of the same.

The court said that the departments concerned should strictly follow and implement the rules to bring under control the problem of sewage water being illegally disposed of.

The matter related to illegal act of cutting, felling and pruning of trees in Vasant Vihar.

The applicants have submitted that some trees were cut/felled in Vasant Vihar on September 30, 2022 without any permission and a complaint dated October 28, 2022 was lodged in this regard by Sanjeev Bagai with various authorities.

New saplings will be planted in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (SAS Nagar), Punjab from time to time during the planting season by the Municipal Corporation and Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and proper space will be kept around the trees. The work of de-concretization around trees will be undertaken and in place of interlocking tiles, perforated tiles will be installed.
