Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Anil Kumar Singh Vs State of Jharkhand & Others dated 30/05/2022.

Grievance in the application is against failure of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) to scientifically manage solid waste in accordance with statutory obligation under the Municipal Solid Wastes (Management & Handling) Rules, 2010 and constitutional obligation to provide a clean environment to the citizens, which is part of the right to life.

The application was filed December 17, 2014 and came up for hearing first time, January 7, 2015.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Sopore Vs Jammu & Kashmir Pollution Control Board dated 25/05/2022.

The appeal was filed by the Municipal Council, Sopore, Jammu & Kashmir against order of the Jammu & Kashmir State Pollution Control Board - levying compensation of ₹130.46 Lakhs on ‘Polluter Pays’ principle.

A study published by the Housing and Urban Development Ministry has stated that a large amount of municipal waste can be prevented from being dumped in landfills by recycling them and that a complete ban on the disposal of recyclables at such sites can be avoided, and in doing so will be able to produce Rs 30,000 crore per annum.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jagdish Kumar Vs State of Haryana dated 09/05/2022.

The issue for consideration initially taken up was the remedial action for restoration of the site where garbage was unscientifically dumped at Gohana, district Sonepat, Haryana. However, in the light of earlier proceedings, the Tribunal took up for consideration the steps for compliance of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 in the entire state since timelines given for various steps under the Solid Waste Management Rules had expired.

Action taken report on behalf of DPCC in the matter of Raj Kumar Vs Union of India in compliance to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order, 08/12/2021.

The NGT had directed the DPCC and SDM, Saraswati Vihar to take action against encroachment in the park opposite the office of the SDM. Garbage, edible packing material, used bottles, cups, electronic waste, buffalo dung, edible waste and torn packaging material was thrown in the park.

Report of the Oversight Committee in the matter of Original Application No. 909/2018 in Re: Confederation of Trans Hindan RWA's Ghaziabad Vs Uttar Pradesh State Pollution Control Board & Others dated 21/02/2022.

The application was filed by the Resident Welfare Association for the non-compliance of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 as door to door collection of garbage was not being done from Indirapuram, Vasundhara and Vaishali. The untreated waste was being dumped at Shakti Khand, Indirapuram.

Written submissions on behalf of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on the recommendations made by the Joint Committee in relation to PMC.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Hem Singh Yog, Deendayal Upadhyay Vichar Manch Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 05/01/2021. The application seeks execution of NGT Order, March 4, 2021 on the issue of remedying unscientific legacy waste dumped near Nagla Kolhu in Mathura Municipal Council/TTZ area.

Affidavit filed by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka in the Original Application No. 606 of 2018 regarding compliance of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.

Urban areas of Karnataka generate approximately 11,085 tonnes of municipal solid waste (MSW). MSW collection has increased from 10,108 TPD to 10,198 TPD from July 2019 to December 2019. 100 per cent door to door waste collection is taking place in 6635 wards out of 6728 wards (98.61%).

Status report of bio mining legacy waste at Kureepuzha, Kollam, Kerala filed by the Kollam Municipal Corporation to the National Green Tribunal (NGT). On March, 2, 2021 a team from NIT Calicut has conducted the drone-based survey for assessing the entire quantity of legacy waste at Kureepuzha and the report submitted by NIT stated that total quantity of legacy waste at an area of 5.5 acres is 104906 m3. Installation of the bio-mining plant infrastructure has been completed and set for doing a bench test shortly.
