JAIPUR: Acting Rajasthan Governor Shivraj Patil on Tuesday called upon all political parties and stakeholders to evolve a consensus on reforms in the water sector to ensure success of the new water policy adopted in the State recently and bring in legislation to control unrestrained exploitation of water resources.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions for utilisation of Narmada water by 2020 allocated to the State.

Gandhinagar: Next time you drive along the Narmada canal or a river bed, you are likely to see tall trees. The state government, in a bid to increase tree cover in the non-forest area, has decided to adopt the Anand model of tree plantation in 17 districts in the state.

In Anand, farmers started planting trees along rivers, ponds and even on the boundaries of fields.

Bhopal: Upper Narmada Project, one of the major projects out of proposed 29 projects is likely to be taken up in the current year. The project would create an irrigation potential of 18616 Hectares in tribal dominated Dindori and Anuppur districts. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 570 Cr.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has permitted to fill water up to 310 metres in the upper Veda irrigation project dam in tribal dominated area in the western part of the State.

The decision of the court paved the way for irrigation project that will irrigate 24,500 acres of agriculture lands in this tribal dominated area facing an abysmal ignorance for a long time.

The decision of the court paved the way for irrigation project of Aparbeda that will irrigate 24 thousand 500 acre agriculture lands in this tribal dominated area facing an abysmal ignorance for a long time.

The Planning Commission (Govt. of India) has issued investment clearance for Upper Narmada Irrigation Project, proposed in Dindori district of Narmada Valley. This ambitious project would create irrigation potential of 18616 Ha. in Tribal dominated Dindori and Anuppur district. This is one of the major dam projects of Master Plan 1972 in which 29 major dam projects is to be built in the Valley.
