The country's largest iron ore producer, NMDC, is likely to restart mining operations at the Panna diamond reserves in Madhya Pradesh by August 15 and is currently undertaking trial runs at the site.
New Delhi: The government is looking at four mining units under the administrative control of the steel ministry for stake sale but a roadmap is yet to be drawn. The stake sale is essentially being considered with the aim of meeting their funds requirement, a top government official said on Friday.

Public sector mineral resources company NMDC is all set to form a joint venture with the Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation within a fortnight.
New Delhi: Mines minister Sis Ram Ola has ignored his own officials and the advice of the Karnataka Government and overlooked the Cabinet secretary by intensely pitching for reserving 1,503 hectares of the prized Ramandurg iron ore mines in the state for PSU Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC). MMTC falls under the purview of the commerce ministry.
