Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Meenu Devi and State of Haryana & Others dated 22/09/2022.

The grievance in the letter petition sent by email, which has been treated and registered as Original Application, is that a river bridge over river Ghaggar stretch between Sectors 21 and 23 in Panchkula, Haryana is being used more for immersion of religious offerings, garbage than for transportation to Chandigarh Tricity. This is polluting the river and damaging the environment.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of T. S. Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 14/09/2022.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT), September 14, 2022 directed the constitution of a nine member Monitoring Committee to come up with an action plan for prevention and remediation of pollution of Sai river so as to achieve tangible results within six months.

The NGT, August 18, 2022 expressed its displeasure with the state of Arunachal Pradesh, praying for more time for filing its reply on the matter of disposal of waste into the rivers Senki, Pachin and Dikrong.

Order of the High Court of Uttarakhand (Writ Petition (PIL) No. 109 of 2022) in the matter of Ratanmani Dobhal Vs State of Uttarakhand & Others dated 03/08/2022.

The petitioner has highlighted three projects undertaken by the Irrigation Department, Uttarakhand namely:

1. Construction of irrigation canal for re-use of treated water of Jagjitpur sewage treatment plant (STP) of Haridwar district under state sector (NABARD) costing of Rs.2365.39 lakh

Report of the joint committee constituted in the Original Application No. 220 of 2022 in the matter of K. Ravindran Vs State of Telangana.

The matter dealt with dumping of human excreta through tankers into Musi river at Tippu Khan bridge, Rangareddy district.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sarvam Ritam Khare Vs State of Madhya Pradesh & Others dated 13/07/2022.

Counsel for the state of Madhya Pradesh has sought time to file the action taken report and to submit further compliance.

Report by Jammu & Kashmir in the matter of Raja Muzaffar Bhat Vs Union of India & Others, 24/06/2022. The action taken report was in compliance to the National Green Tribunal order, March 8, 2022.

An application was filed before the NGT for steps to prevent illegal mining, discharge of sewage and dumping of solid waste into river Doodh Ganga and Mamath Kull.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vipin Nayyar Vs Union of India & Others dated 18/05/2022.

Grievance in the application is against construction of toilets in flood plain zone of river Ganga by the Municipal Corporation, Rishikesh and discharge of untreated waste therefrom in river Ganga. No STP has been constructed to treat such waste.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Kiran Ramdas Kamble & Others Vs State of Maharashtra dated 18/05/2022.

Question for consideration is the remedial action for failure of the Municipal Council Trimbak and other concerned authorities of the state of Maharashtra in preventing discharge of municipal waste into river joining Godavari, in violation of judgement of the Supreme Court in Paryavaran Suraksha v. UOI, (2017) 5 SCC 326.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 12/05/2022.

The application seeks execution of NGT order, March 18, 2021 whereby directions were issued for remedial action against pollution by the polluting industrial activities discharging polluted effluents in river Bhella which meets Kosi river in Rampur, which is a tributary of Ramganga, which in turn is a tributary of river Ganga.
