Report on dumping of soil in Chenab and Tawi rivers, 17/03/2020

Report in terms of the National Green Tribunal order of January 9, 2020 in O.A. No. 295/2016 in the matter of Amresh Singh Vs Union of India. The report was filed by the NGT Monitoring Committee, Jammu on March 17, 2020. The matter arise from a complaint lodged by one Amresh Singh with regard to rampant dumping of soil in Chenab and Tawi rivers in the process of four-laning of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, NH-44 from Udhampur to Banihal, adversely affecting the environmental balance.

Report by UEPPCB on waste disposal dump yard set up on the bank of river Khoh, village Ratanpur, Kotdwar, Uttarakhand

Action taken report by the Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB) in Original Appliction No. 144 of 2018 in compliance of National Green Tribunal order of July 27, 2019 in the matter of Arvind Baniyal Vs State of Uttarakhand. The matter relates to a waste disposal dump yard set up on the bank of river Khoh, village Ratanpur, Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. The report stated that the collected waste of Nagar Nigam, Kotdwar was disposed at Paniyali Talli, village Ratanpur.

Increase in Funds for Namami Gange Programme

Government of India has launched the Namami Gange Programme in June, 2014, with the total budgetary outlay of Rs.20,000 crore for the period from 2014-15 till 31 December 2020 to accomplish the twin objectives of effective abatement of pollution, conservation and rejuvenation of National River Ganga and its tributaries.
In the budget for the financial year 2020-21, Government of India has proposed an allocation of Rs.1,600.02 crore for the Namami Gange Programme.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on pollution in Ayad river, 12/03/2020

As informed by Municipal Corporation, Udaipur (Rajasthan) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB),a part of waste water (sewage) are being released into the Ayad river. At present, out of about57 MLD waste water being generated in Udaipur city, about 12 MLD waste water is going into the Ayad River. Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in association with Rajasthan State pollution Control Board (RSPCB) is monitoring water quality of aquatic resources at 196 locations in Rajasthan including Udaisagar Lake under National Water Quality Monitoring Programme.

District Environment Plan for South Goa District

Goa State Pollution Control Board has been conducting ambient air monitoring at 18 fixed locations under NAMP. Of these 10 locations are in South Goa District and monitoring values shows that Vasco is moderately polluted and Ponda is also showing marginal higher values in month of April .
