RANCHI, 3 MAY: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) today said, the company was in search of an alternative site in Jharkhand to relocate the proposed 1,980 MW capacity super thermal power project that was to come up near Tandwa in the Chatra district.

In first phase, nine sectors identified to improve efficiency.

Towards efficiency

On the lines of emissions trading, the new scheme aims at maximising energy savings nationally in the most cost-effective manner.

Those managing to better their targets will be allowed to sell energy saving credits to those failing to achieve the required cuts.

Ranchi, April 25: After yesterday

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is planning to start the construction work of its proposed mega thermal power project at Kudgi in Bijapur district by the end of this year.

The Madhya Pradesh Government on Thursday again raised the issues of shortage of electricity and coal for thermal power plants. Time and again, the State Government has raised the issues with senior Union Cabinet Ministers but to no avail.

BHUBANESWAR: While the State is reeling under power crisis and low generation of thermal power due to shortage of coal has further aggravated the situation, Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal said the Ministry had no such report.

Power transmission in the state has entered a new phase with everything ready for the first-ever transmission project in the country with viability gap funding (VGF) by the central government.

The project will be the first in Haryana with VGF in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

The government has set aside upwards of Rs 30,000 crore for the upgrade and maintenance of almost 115 hydro and thermal power generating units, including some thermal stations commissioned as early as 1968.
