Tirupati, Sept 14: As many as 16 patients reacted badly to tuberculosis injections that were administered to them at the S.V.R.R. Government Hospital here and have become seriously ill.

According to the victims, the paramedical staff at the hospital gave ceftrioxione injections to about 70 patients in the TB ward at around 7 am.

However, for 16 patients the medicine had an adverse reaction.

NEW DELHI: India and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) have signed a three-year grant agreement for $128.4 million or Rs.609.9 crore to support the continuation of flagship programmes of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO).

A study was conducted on 440 dairy cattle in six organized dairy farms in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India using tuberculin skin testing (TST) to determine the prevalence of bovine tuberculosis. An overall animal prevalence of 14.31% (63 of 440 animals) and a farm prevalence of 16.67% (1 of 6 farms) were recorded in 6 dairy farms by the TST.Of the six dairy farms studied, one of the farms showed prevalence of 34.42% (63/183).
