Due to Coronavirus, India had to go through lockdown for months. Due to this, the Indian economy suffered too but one thing which improved was the Air Quality Index (AQI). This is why blue skies were visible and so was the sun every during evenings. In Delhi, the air pollution dipped majorly. The average AQI for August 2020 was 64.On the other hand, the least AQI was 41 on August 31. This falls in very good category. Take a look at the complete report.

There is an air emergency in North India as pollution levels are almost 13 times the safe limit. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal describes it as a 'gas chamber' and orders the closure of all schools in Delhi till November 5 and distributes pollution masks in the city. Is stubble burning the main reason for the worsening condition of NCR Air quality? With the air quality in Delhi-NCR crossing the 'very poor' mark, concerns over the sources of pollution have started to emerge. Apart from the regular vehicular and industrial emissions, a significant amount of pollution is attributed to the stubble-burning activities in northern states post-monsoon.
