The National Green Tribunal directed the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to verify whether adequate steps have been taken to stop the flow of sewage and other wastes flowing into the storm water drain of  Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam. Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam informed the Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development, Lucknow that there is now connectivity of wash waters and waste from dairies at three vulnerable points. 158 houses which were unconnected to the sewerage system has now been connected and hence no sewage is now being discharged into the drain.

Sewage is estimated to be 1.45 lakh litres per day. Agra Development Authority (ADA) is primarily responsible for such failure, the complaint said.
