The matter is related to illegal extraction of groundwater through submersible pump for sale in Ghaziabad area of Uttar Pradesh. The area is already in the category of “over exploited area” and thereby not only contaminating groundwater but also creating scarcity in the availability of drinking water to the local residents, the application filed by Khem Chand, an advocate by profession read.

The NGT, December 6, 2022 directed a committee to be constituted to look into the matter of lack of green belt and sewage treatment plant in Sidhharth Vihar Yojna, a scheme of Awas Vikas Parishad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The committee has to submit a report within one month, the court said.

Joint committee report in the matter of Mukesh Kumar Chauhan Vs State of Uttar Pradesh, 01/12/2022.

The applicant, Mukesh Kumar Chauhan in his complaint before the NGT said that J K Cement, village Satha, Aligarh and other companies are getting clinker, required by them for manufacture of cement, transported from Harduaganj railway station near village Satha, district Aligarh. During loading and unloading clinker evaporates causing damage to the environment and health hazards to the residents.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Atul Singh Chauhan Vs Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change & Others dated 30/11/2022.

The application has been filed by the State of Uttar Pradesh through Additional Chief Secretary, Environment seeking directions for discontinuing the Oversight Committee, constituted by the Tribunal vide order dated October 21, 2019 on suggestion of the state itself in its application dated July 16, 2019.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in its report to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) said that two brick kilns are operating in village Bamnoli, Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh without zig zag technology and responsible for violating environmental laws, rules and regulations set up by the state and the central government.

Navbharat Brick Field and Shiv Brick Field are operating in violation of the Uttar Pradesh Brick Kilns Criteria Act. The brick kilns are causing air, water and soil pollution and which in turn is causing many health hazards.
