Order of the Supreme Court in the matter of M C Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 20/01/2025. The matter related to increase in vehicular pollution in the national capital region and the need for an effective public transport system. The apex court said it was deliberating setting norms granting permission for construction of apartments and that no apartments without a specified parking lot should be allowed to come up. The SC also wanted to know the plans by the government to make electric vehicles affordable.

Order of the Supreme Court in the matter of Mirza Abid Beg Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 17/01/2024.

Inspite of orders passed on July 16, 2024 and November 22, 2024, the committee appointed by the state of Uttar Pradesh has not complied with the directions issued by the SC to report on the illegal filling of water bodies in Nagina tehsil, district Bijnor. Uttar Pradesh has not shown "elementary courtesy" of making an application for extension of time for complying with the orders passed by the court noted the bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Bhoori Singh Vs District Magistrate, Agra & Others dated 17/01/2025.

The application was filed by Bhoori Singh, resident of village Angoothi, tehsil Sadar, Agra complaining about the encroachment on pond land. Despite complaints made to revenue authorities no action has been taken by the concerned authorities for removing encroachments and restoring the pond to its original status. Letter was also sent to Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board on the matter.

Affidavit by the District Magistrate, Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh in compliance with the NGT orders (November 6, 2023, July 3, 2024 and September 23, 2024).

The matter related to encroachment and disappearance of the ponds in Kanpur Dehat district. There were a total of 1975 ponds which have been reduced to 880 only. Thus, 1095 ponds have disappeared on account of encroachment, contamination of water according to the application filed by Meghraj Singh.
