Status report on behalf of state of Uttar Pradesh pursuance to the National Green Tribunal order of July 29, 2019. The matter relates to drinking water supply, sewerage, drainage system and solid waste disposal in the city of Agra as well as the areas coming under the Cantonment Board, Agra and eco-sensitive zone of Taj Trapezium Zone.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Giriraj Parikrama Sanrakshan Sansthan Vs State of Rajasthan & Others dated 23/10/2019 regarding discharge of sewage from the houses in the vicinity of Mansi Ganga Kund, Govardhan, Uttar Pradesh.The counsel for state of Uttar Pradesh has informed the Tribunal that the entire discharge of sewage from the houses in that area have been connected with a system leading to the sewage treatment plant (STP) which is functional near Radha Kund.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Justice A. K. Roopanwal (Retd.) & Others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 22/10/2019 regarding Presidium School and Indirapuram Habitat Centre using diesel generator sets creating air and noise pollution at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad in violation of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Diesel was being stored in painting drums in open which was life threatening.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Doaba Paryavaran Samiti Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 21/10/2019 regarding pollution in Kali Nadi, Krishni and Hindon Rivers resulting in diseases and deaths of inhabitants of the area.

Case History:

On October 15, 2019 the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) came into force in Delhi-NCR. This is being monitored by the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA). To further enhance the impact of GRAP this year EPCA has decided to put extra focus on controlling air pollution in air pollution hotspots in the region.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of C. P. Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 17/10/2019 regarding growing pollution in the city of Kanpur on account of burning of garbage, dust and vehicular pollution resulting in adverse impact on the public health and the environment.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Satish Kumar & Others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 17/10/2019 regarding operation of brick kilns by using softwood, plastic and dung cakes causing air pollution in village Makimpur Gadi, District Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ganga Lalwani Vs Union of India & Others dated 15/10/2019 regarding remedial action to prevent burning of crop residue resulting in air pollution particularly in the NCR Region. The hearings are in continuation of the hearings taking place in the matter since December 2015.
