Pune The revenue department officials of the collectorate have been assessing five sites in the city, which can be used for solid waste management, and thus ease pressure off the present garbage dump at Urali Devachi.

It may be recalled that Collector Chandrakant Dalvi has assured the villagers of Urali Devachi that an alternative site would be made available in seven months time.

CHENNAI: Conservancy agency Neel Metal Fanalca will introduce a new system of source segregation of garbage from June 15 in four zones of the Chennai Corporation, according to its vice-president G.Thirugnanasambandam.

The quantity of leaf litter composted and the biomass (earthworm/microbial) recovered after composting were increased with increasing the quantity of earthworm/microbial kinetizer.

In a bid to introduce Solid Waste Management System in the city, the Noida Authority has identified three locations for landfill sites. In a preliminary discussion with HUDCO, the Noida Authority has asked the technical consultants to provide a detailed project report on the latest technology and the viable options available for disposal of wastes.
