KOCHI: The Kochi Corporation will soon serve notices on the residential complexes that do not have waste treatment units. The decision, according to the authorities, will help Kochi attain the status of the first city in the country to have waste treatment units installed in all apartment blocks.

“We will serve notices on those residential complexes which do not install bio bins. The decision comes in the wake of the Kerala High Court’s order to ban disposal of waste in public places. We want to make sure that the ban is properly enforced,” said Kochi Corporation Health Standing Committee chairman T K Ashraf.
