Grievance in the application is against alleged encroachment of Yamuna floodplain by Yamuna Mission, Mathura. It is stated that though ostensibly acting to preserve and clean river Yamuna and undertaking plantation drive, in the garb of such activities, Yamuna floodplain is being encroached. The applicant has filed photographs showing construction on the ghats and copies of complaints made to the authorities.

The appeal has been preferred against order, September 17, 2021 - granting Environmental Clearance (EC) by SEIAA, Uttar Pradesh for sand/bajri/boulder mining from Yamuna riverbed at Gata No. 1/1/1, Laat No. 38, village Nuniyari Aehatmal, tehsil Behat, Saharanpur by M/s. Shanti Enterprises, Area-24.29 ha.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Chaudhary Ompal & Others Vs State of Haryana dated 30/06/2021. Grievance in the application was against discharge of untreated industrial effluents at village Hamidi, district Yamunanagar, Haryana. The drain carrying the effluent is connected to Dhanaura Escape, village Dabkoli, Indri, which finally joins Yamuna. The said discharge is contaminating the ground water. The foul smell is affecting the inhabitants and the public health. The chemical discharge is also affecting the cattle and the agriculture fields.
