UK plans to go low-carbon
The UK government unveiled a plan to make the country a low carbon emitter. The plan, announced by energy and climate change secretary Ed Miliband, details how the country will meet its domestic climate targets, set out under the climate change act, to cut emissions by at least 34 per cent by 2020 on 1990 levels. The goals include supporting 1.5 million houses to produce their own energy and deriving 40 per cent of the country
