This report on the audit of expenditure incurred by the Government of Maharashtra has been prepared for submission to the Governor of Maharashtra under Article 151 of the Constitution of India. Chapter I of this report covers auditee profiles, authority for audit, planning and conducting of audit and responses of the departments to draft paragraphs. Highlights of audit observations included in this report have also been brought out in this chapter. Chapter II contains findings of the performance audit of Slum Rehabilitation Schemes in Mumbai, Role of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board in Prevention and Control of Water Pollution in Maharashtra, Implementation of Soil and Water Conservation Programme in Agriculture Department, Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation and Working of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training. Chapter III deals with the findings of transaction audits. Chapter IV deals with district-centric audit of Gondia District.
