It tracks what is known in terms of forest extent and quality, carbon stocks, forest trends and drivers, key players and their activities, tenure issues, and forest and land-related legislation and policies. Given the background situation, it then assesses the scope and opportunities for forest carbon activities and investments in Sri Lanka, the implementation challenges and steps to move forward. The report is based on a desktop review of literature and legislation, as well as interviews of relevant agencies and individuals.
