Climate change is impacting human health and straining heavily burdened health services everywhere.

Coastal areas are generally highly vulnerable to climate change impacts, and the need to reduce risks and build resilience is great. While a growing number of countries are integrating, or mainstreaming, adaptation into coastal development plans, many struggle to implement proposed actions on the ground, leading to an implementation gap.

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) – with a mandate to accelerate climate action in developing countries – has great potential to support transformational investments in developing countries to achieve the goals set out in the Paris Climate Agreement. It is therefore crucial that the GCF succeed in its mission.
